The music led you to straight to Nashville—the food was a close second—and now, which hotel do you stay at? There are many great choices, but here are three we know and love.
3 NASHVILLE HOTELS YOU’LL LOVE TO LIVE IN
231 Sixth Avenue North, 888-888-9414
Book at least one night in the historic Hermitage, a cherished Nashville landmark for more than a century.
The 1908 Beaux Arts-style hotel recalls the gilded age with its ornate lobby complete with an elegant chandelier, painted glass skylight, ballroom, grand staircase, mezzanine, and veranda. Its guests have ranged from American Presidents, celebrities and country stars, to notorious bank robbers, including Charlie Chaplin, Babe Ruth, Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, and John Dillinger. The rooms are luxurious and well-appointed, and you are assured a good-night’s sleep as soon as your head hits the down pillows and soft, comfy mattress, especially if you have taken advantage of the concierge bath service surrounded by steamy bubbles and scented candles.
Catch a glimpse of the Hermitage in a Netflix episode of “Master of None” where Aziz Anzari’s New York-based character tries to impress his girlfriend with a weekend trip to Nashville and spend as much time napping in the hotel room as they do at the BBQ restaurants and honkytonks.
2. Hyatt Place Nashville Downtown
301 3rd Avenue South, 615-687-9995
Selected one of the top 25 hotels in Nashville by Trip Advisor, Hyatt Place may not be as posh as the Hermitage, but its location smack dab in middle of a thriving downtown neighborhood can’t be beat. It’s just a block from the Music City Convention Center, within walking distance of Honky Tonk Row, and both the Nissan Stadium and Bridgestone Arena is less than a mile away.
The lobby features local art, including a Johnny Cash print (if you want more Cash, and who doesn’t, there’s a whole museum dedicated to the legendary country singer), and a bustling coffee and cocktails bar depending on what time of the day or night you are partaking. There’s 24/7 Gallery dining and complimentary breakfast. Book a suite on a high floor for an awesome city view.
3. Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott Downtown/Gulch
901 Division Street, 615-690-1740
For great value in the heart of the trendy Gulch district in downtown Nashville, try this Marriott property, but book in advance because, like many of the concerts you’ll want to see, rooms sell out fast. Guests are in the middle of The Gulch restaurant district and just under 1 mile from Yazoo Brewing Company, the locally-made beer.
A flat-screen TV, iPod docking station, and coffee-makers are in every room, and Wi-Fi is free. A small shop for snacks and travel essentials is on site, as is a DIY laundromat so you can save on concierge services. Best of all is the rooftop lounge for tapas and cocktails while overlooking the city.
Y’all have fun now!
