Did winter feel like it would never leave? Alas, Spring is on the horizon. The sun is making its appearance. The winter jacket slides off in the car. And the snow is finally melting – leaving behind a rain boots’ dream of never-ending puddles. It may be grey and rainy out there but don’t let that get you down. Just turn the weather to your advantage. These days, I find I reach for my wellies more than any other item in my closet. They’re cute and comfy and they wipe off easily. The simplest way to look chic and not childlike? Just sport a tailored trench. Then, grab a colourful or whimsical umbrella to complete your Breakfast at Tiffany’s it’s-raining-but-I’m-gorgeous look.

The Classic You radiate toward classic neutral shades and prints that are synonymous with good taste. The iconic beige trench is a staple in your closet and you wear your wellies in the rain but really don’t want them to get wet. Sure there are less expensive options available out there but you want the best and you want it to last. You would make Audrey very proud. Pastels Please The Spring of 2014 is all about light-as-air pastels; shades of baby blue, powder pink and creamy mint abound. Paired with basic navy, black or camel, these shades become classics in and of themselves and mix well with what you already have in your closet. Black Hunter boots may be a staple but how fun are these pale blue ones? In a shorter length, they’re equally adorable and wonderful if you’ve got strong calves. Prints Preferred When you walk into a room, you want to be noticed. For you, leopard print is a neutral. Brights Baby You like your lipstick red, your nails bold and your colours of high wattage. Colour makes you feel good and makes your mood better.
