“Conscious uncoupling” or Conscious PR move?
Looks like we have one more couple to add to our breakup list.
After a decade of wedded bliss, Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin have split. Or rather, they have decided to do something called – ahem – conscious uncoupling. Um, what?
…we have come to the conclusion that while we love each other very much we will remain separate. We are, however, and always will be a family, and in many ways we are closer than we have ever been.
Closer than they have ever been?
We hate to see our favourite couples take off their rings but Gwyneth’s statement about conscious uncoupling, that crashed the G’s lifestyle site Goop.com has us scratching our heads. Surely, that statement sounds a lot more Paltrow and a lot less Martin. Now make no mistake. We love Gwyneth’s talent (especially in Sliding Doors) and we’d kill for her amazing skin. But seriously, is she an even better businesswoman than an actress?
While the term “consciously uncoupling” may come off as somewhat positive and oddly empowering, is Gwyneth trying to use her brand to pioneer a new type of amicable separation? Will we soon see Conscious Uncoupling as an option on divorce petitions, next to Irreconcilable Differences? Well, at least she won’t have to share her organic non-gmo silken tofu free-trade chocolate pudding with anyone else for awhile.
That 70’s Baby Jackie & Kelso are having a baby!! Just weeks after announcing their engagement, Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher are lighting up the headlines with glowing pregnancy buzz. While the reported-to-be-parents have yet to publicly confirm, a source close to the sexy couple leaked the news and no one seems to be denying it. Mila has even been spotted wearing dead giveaway baggy tops lately – the signature hide-the-bump fashion statement of the stars. While those close to the couple keep mum, we’re openly thrilled.
Who among us hasn’t hoped these two would hook up ever since their days bickering on That 70’s Show and isn’t sure their babies will be way too good looking? A friend of the couple recently told OK Magazine:
“Ashton and Mila feel like they won the baby lottery. It was a total shock for both of them,but they feel up for the challenge. It didn’t seem like it was possible for them to fall any deeper in love, but the prospect of raising an insta-family together has solidified their commitment to each other.”
