Thanks to the wonder that is the Internet – and Netflix, Hulu and wherever else you can find back episodes – you can tune in to pretty much every TV show you’ve missed, and there are some gems out there. If you aren’t already hooked these shows (and why aren’t you?!?!), there is still time to binge watch before their exciting new seasons start. Here they are:

5 TV Shows that Were Made for Binge-Watching

1. SLEEPY HOLLOW

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW: The end of the world is about to be ushered in by the Headless Horseman. To prevent hell on Earth, Ichabod Crane’s witchy wife sends him 200 years in to the future which turns out to be present day Sleepy Hollow. Ichabod teams up with Lt. Abbie Mills whose own past gives clues to the Horseman’s intentions.

WHY YOU NEED TO WATCH: Resurrection, demons, murder, romance and American history are all woven into this new take on the classic tale. Ichabod continues to learn about our modern world (things like cell phones, credit cards and even yoga) which allows for some delightful comic relief in the midst of the pending apocalypse. Season 2 premieres Sept. 22 on Fox. scandal_season_2

2. SCANDAL

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW: The show morphed from tabloid-esque subject matter to political intrigue in 3 short seasons. Olivia Pope, a “fixer” of celebrity and political scandals, cannot seem to fix her own relationships. She hops on a jet, leaving behind two men who love her – one of whom is the head of a super secret spy agency and the other, the President of the United States.

WHY YOU NEED TO WATCH: The twists and turns that this show take will give you whiplash but it all seems to work thanks to the expert story telling of Shonda Rhimes. Each episode will leave you with a I-never-saw-that-coming hangover. Season 4 premieres Sept. 25 on ABC. ouat

3. ONCE UPON A TIME

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW: What could have been a very campy idea, Once Upon a Time weaves well known fairly tale characters seamlessly together in a battle of good vs. evil. If you think you know the villains from the heroes in these stories, you’re overestimating your intelligence.

WHY YOU NEED TO WATCH: This is fairy tales for grown ups. Love, mystery, adventure and, yes, magic make this TV show so much fun! Not only will you fall for good guy Prince Charming but scoundrel Captain Hook will steal your heart as well. Hint – once you start watching you will not wan to “Let it go”. Season 4 premieres Sept. 28 on ABC. originals-112c712d

4. THE ORIGINALS WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW: A spin off of “The Vampire Diaries”, this a more grown up show based on the family of “original” vampires. There are no sparkly vampires here (take that Twilight).

WHY YOU NEED TO WATCH: Blood, lust and blood lust are set in the supernatural city of New Orleans. Witches, werewolves, vampires and werewolf-vampire hybrids battle each other and their inner demons in an attempt to take over the city. Season 2 premieres Oct. 3 on CW. Arrow-thumb

5. ARROW

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW: Playboy turned bow and arrow toting superhero, Oliver Queen fights crime and corruption of those who have failed the fictional Starling City.

WHY YOU NEED TO WATCH: Engaging story arcs, multi-layered characters, shirtless Stephen Amell, movie worthy action sequences, kick ass female characters and did we mention, Stephen Amell is shirtless in almost every episode?!?! This is THE must watch action show on network television. Season 3 premieres Oct. 8 on CW.   photo credit: oddsock via photopin cc
