With Valentine’s Day falling just five days before romance writer Rachel Blaufeld releases Redemption Lane, the first book in her new Crossroads Series, we caught up with her to ask just which hot and sexy books we should be reading. And here’s what she said.

This month, I will no doubt be on the couch in big socks, a glass of red wine in hand and hopefully, a hot and sexy read on my Kindle. While the leading ladies of my Electric Tunnel Series (Electrified and Smoldered) strut their stuff across the stage in barely anything, I will assuredly be in baggy sweats on February 14th this year. Pretty sexy, right?

As a romance author, I don’t have nearly enough time to read the stories that make our hearts thump and our pulses sprint. I adore nothing more than finding a few hours to binge-read. There is absolutely nothing like being swept up in an angsty and fantasy-fueled love affair, a romantic comedy, an apocalyptic story filled with equal parts blood and lust, or just finding myself in the dreamy arms of an angry rocker or muscled sports god.

When I first created the dark purple and navy interior of the Electric Tunnel, I only imagined the stories that would begin to unfold within those fictional walls. Love, cheating, unadulterated passion, redemption, and good conquering evil were the elements my characters brought to life. I love when I hear readers are experiencing them, feeling them evolve, and anxiously making it to the last page.

I feel the same way about a few reads out there right now, and I thought I would share a few with you this V-Day. So, prepare to load up your e-Reader. And keep a fan handy. 5 Amazing Indie Romance Books You Won’t Want to Put Down

MILF: Wrong Kind of Love by Erin Noelle

MILF, is a saucy, sexy, and fantastic read. A risky love affair between an almost 40-year-old woman and her son’s 21-year-old best friend, this book will make your heart beat at a marathon pace.

I asked Noelle about her inspiration for the book—of course, as I’ve newly turned 40, I was curious.

And she says, After reading so many May-December romances where the female is the young one in the relationship, I thought it was time to feature a mature woman who captivates a younger guy. Well, I love the idea and I adored the book, and I hope you do too.

5 Amazing Indie Romance Books You Won’t Want to Put DownThicker Than Blood by Madeline Sheehan and Claire C. Riley

Thicker Than Blood, is a post-apocalyptic tale full of twists, love and suffering, this one will leave you breathless and wanting more (there is more coming, thankfully). It may seem odd to find romance among the blood, guts and gore of this dystopian novel, but it’s not.

I spoke with Sheehan and she says, Lust is instinctual…love just happens, regardless of the circumstances. And I agree. The beauty and pain of this story will bring your to your knees.

Undeniably You by Jewel E. Ann

I downloaded Undeniably You as I boarded a flight, and let’s just say I ignored my family for the whole five hours. Oh, this hysterically funny, sometimes painful, gorgeous love triangle doesn’t disappoint or leave any stone unturned.

Lautner (the resident hunk) became my book boyfriend of the month, and I seriously needed an intervention for my addiction. Part romantic comedy, part touching story, this book makes a perfect Valentine’s Day read.

Girl on the Half Shell – Susan Ward

In the first book of Girl on the Half Shell, a spoiled and lonely prep school girl seeks salvation in a bad boy rocker. Ward calls it An intense journey of first love, and that it is.

Within the pages of this book, I found the most sweet, angst-filled story. Not just another rockstar god, but a faulty man and a troubled girl seek redemption while feelings out of their control bloom. The second installment releases soon, and I am biting my nails.

Those are my choices for snuggling up to a sexy binge read. Back to editing, I go.

Editor’s Note: We’ve read both books in the Electric Tunnel series, and all we can say is that they’re definitely electrifying. If you’re asking our opinion, they should be added to Rachel’s list. But of course, she can’t. So we are. Go read them.
