Pale, delicate hues of the pinky variety often wouldn’t see the light of day until spring has officially sprung. Well, this year, you’ll be surprised to learn that you don’t need to hide your pretty pastels in the back of the closet. That’s right, you can break out your pastel pink now. You may think we’re just wearing rose-coloured glasses here, but the truth is, this sweet little colour is a closet chameleon in disguise!
Despite its ultra-feminine persona, tender pink is ultra-versatile with a sexy confidence that transcends the seasons. The best news: Paired with the right closet mates, powdery or candy floss pink or even, barely there blush tones, have the ability to catapult themselves into that elusive, wear now, wear later category. Did someone say, closet workhorse? If pretty in pink is the look you’re after, pair any soft pink or blush tone with a similarly soft neutral like ivory.
And keep this tip in mind: To make pinky hues work for fall and winter, toughen up the shade by pairing them with earthy, grounding colours like navy, black or grey as well as virtually any shade of brown including camel, caramel, spicy nutmeg or espresso.
SPRING 2015: IT’S TIME TO THINK PINK
This month, we’re opting to “wear it now” by doing just that. Our favourite combination? It all starts with this darling little Max Mara trench from Andrews. It’s almost seasonless when worn with black slim-fit trousers and a black turtleneck—items we already have in our closet. Come spring, we’re pairing this jacket with everything white we already own—and will own—because of course, white is once again a huge trend for spring 2015.
As you can see, we’ve also been busy sourcing the perfect handbag, carefully choosing our signature scent and last but not least, diarizing all of our spring must haves in a gorgeous notebook. Better get shopping because everything spring is calling our names. Take our word for it, now’s the time when the season’s most fabulous makes its appearance.
So tell us: Which of these stunning pieces are you coveting? Isn’t it amazing to be able to get all this gorgeous in one place?
