I hate to say it now that I’m 50 and I’ve got lines on my face that were never there before, but when I was growing up, I didn’t care about my skin. OK, that’s not true. I did care. I cared that I had a face full of freckles that made me look too young (imagine that!). I cared that I burned and bubbled instead of going bronze in the sun like the popular girls. Come to think of it, the real sin wasn’t that I didn’t care about my skin; it was that I didn’t care for it. Like most oblivious teens who are sure they’ll see a youthful face staring back at them forever, I used soap and water, I slathered on baby oil for “tanning sessions” and I don’t think I even heard of eye cream until after I was married.
Lucky for me, I realized one day that cute freckles were actually a gift from above, that Snow White was pretty damn gorgeous and that there is nothing quite like the feeling of hydration sinking into your skin. I also learned that it’s called beauty sleep for a reason, that water does wonders for a face that looks ragged, and that a little shine on your forehead is not something to lose your mind over since it gives you that healthy glow we all want. And, of course, I started learning about skin care products, which as it turns out, are not all alike, after all.
Why We Love CeraVe Skin Renewing Products
Have you tried CeraVe? There are so many qualities we love about this brand. First off, all CeraVe products contain 3 essential ceramides as well as hyaluronic acid to help hydrate and replenish vital lipids in the skin’s natural protective moisture barrier. That means it’s actually doing its job and not just sitting on your face making it greasy. Plus, CeraVe was developed with ongoing consultation with, and therefore recommended by, dermatologists—the people we trust most when it comes to skin care. Oh and CeraVe has anti-aging benefits, something we can all use more of.
Ready to try some new, fabulous skin care products? Here are a couple we recommend:
What it does: It helps improve the look of fine lines and wrinkles. Hooray.
What it does: It is designed to work at night in synergy with skin’s circadian rhythm, when skin is more receptive. Beauty sleep indeed.
